A little bitta everything

I typed "A little bitta" and immediately started singing Mambo No. 5 in my head (which has been there for hours now and I don't know whyyyy haaaaalp).

If you know me at all, you know how much I obsess over Bri Emery's huuuge blog, DesignLoveFest. This girl is EVERYWHERE, and she's so inspiring. So you can imagine the total fucking FREAKOUT I had yesterday morning when I wandered over to her site and saw one of my own designs up for download! Here's the post if you wanna see it and download the wallpaper that I made. It was originally a background that I designed for my work computer to remind myself to breathe (that's what the braille says), but I wanted to share it with everyone, and Bri sure helped make that happen!

Yesterday was one of the most satisfying days I've had in so long. Sometimes I wonder how life always seems to come together for me in such a non-traditional but wonderful fashion, but I think I'm starting to understand just how much I actually make that happen for myself. I don't feel like I'm working that hard because I love what I do SO MUCH, but the effort's there. I dunno how I got here other than good luck and even better timing, but it blows my mind that I can love something so much that I can work at it almost every waking hour and still want more.

(And since I am often the girl who walks away from "good" things, it gives me hope that when I find non-career related things that are truly right as well,  I'll always crave more from them, too. It's vague, but it makes sense to me.)

Allow me to geek out for a moment. There's an episode of the X-Files called "All Things" where this conversation takes place:
Scully: What if there was only one choice and all the other ones were wrong? And there were signs along the way to pay attention to.
Mulder: Mmm. Then all the... choices would then lead to this very moment. One wrong turn, and... we wouldn't be sitting here together.

Those 2 lines sum up everything. I've always just done whatever felt right, and it magically worked. I'm very lucky.

I've had about 5 different versions of this playlist simmering on Spotify over the last 2 weeks but couldn't seem to get the right flow - I think I found it today! God I hope my French is correct. If it's not, please tell me ASAP so I can re-upload the cover here AND on designers.MX hahaha

AND!! I can't leave without mentioning this:

Between the comments on my last post and Cassie's post, the tweets, the 20sb discussion, and my friends' reponses, I'd say the beginnings of this little Introvert Revolution were a big fat SUCCESS. So many people have already responded to tell us that they loved the idea and are going to write about it, or just thanked us for the posts that we wrote. I am especially happy about the comments that I received from people that aren't introverted; trust me, extroverted (turns out, "extraverted" and "extroverted" are BOTH correct) people taking the time to read through what we had to say and really thinking about it means more than you will ever know!

Don't forget - if you write about it, send Cassie or myself a link so that we can read along and put a link to it on our pages!

Love ALL of you. Really.

  3. I love your design style. Looks like a fancy perfume bottle. You wrote by the way "I flower" - is that what you wanted to say?

    1. the top I'm ok with: I flower/I flourish/I bloom (or I am flowering/flourishing/blooming), but the bottom...I can never remember - if I want to say "and others also" do I say "and the others also" or "and some others also" in french? Haha ugh

  6. That wallpaper is awesome; I totally understand why it was featured! Also, I am bummed that I've been so MIA from 20sb of late, because that conversation was awesome and I'm left feeling like it's all been said. In short, I am gushing because I don't know how it took me so long to find your blog, but I'm super glad I did. <3
