And I'm glad you're here too.
I just finished a 5 mile run (and by run I mean jog) (and by jog I mean more of a brisk walk and jogging when someone is walking slowly in front of me) around the Brentwood Country Club, through a farmers market, and around my neighborhood. You guys...the air actually smells sweeter near the country club entrance. It's sickening, the sweet smell of money. But appealing, regardless *sigh*
I was more interested in the houses that I passed than the country club (but I did take really deep breaths when I went by). Which, since we're in Brentwood, are fucking fabulous. I often find myself in these little "I-hate-design-it's-so-unimportant-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things" phases, and they're usually caused by work overload or a weekend spent in nature, but all I need to do to shake myself out of it is see a few really beautiful homes, inside or out. I probably should have gone down the interior design path rather than graphic design.
Needless to say, I ordered new bedding from West Elm and once that gets here I will be posting some photos of my apartment's progress because it has come a loooooong way since I moved in/Mike moved out! Once it's perfect I'm gonna send it into Apartment Therapy and hope it gets picked up. I bought a really great chair yesterday at the UCLA thrift store for like $50 that's pulling everything together in my bedroom.
I took a bunch of these last weekend and forgot to post them.
Does anyone out there use a turntable? Not for DJing. Just for simple album-listening purposes. I'm planning on buying one soon and need suggestions. I have a few in mind (this one in particular) but I could really use some advice on what to look for and what to avoid. HALP
My dad has a turntable. (Of course he does.)
ReplyDeleteHis FB post about Within You Without You by the Beatles last night was the entire reason I started wanting a turntable HAHA. I thought, "How wonderful would it be to be able to sit and listen to Revolver or Rubber Soul all the way through on vinyl..." and then found myself on Amazon comparing prices for something I know nothing about lol
DeleteIt DOES sound pretty incredible. I think I listened to The Doors a little bit with him around Christmas. And thought I'm not a fan of them, the sound itself, was awesome. Haven't gotten to hear any Beatles on it yet when I've been at home. THAT I look forward to. You can always ask him about it! It will prob make his day lol.
ReplyDeleteBriskish walking is still betting than eating tubs of ice cream sitting on the couch! :) Pretty pics, as usual. I love the beach one. Makes me wish I was closer to the ocean, or at least my hometown which has plenty of lakes.
ReplyDeletetruthfully I'm jealous, I'd much rather be by a lake than an ocean! and you are DAMN RIGHT, my brisk walk/job (wog) felt great. much better than sitting in bed eating jalapeno almonds from whole foods, which is what i was doing beforehand haha
