Strange social expectancies and Lonesome Dreams

Before I get into anything deep here, I'm gonna admit that it makes me really excited that Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are plastered all over entertainment news outlets. Like REALLY HAPPY. Not because I care about the two of them dating in real life (I care really deeply actually, shut up), but because maaayyybbbe 20th Century Fox will see all this renewed interest and give a green light to a third and final movie. Maybe? I would die happy. In the meantime, I'll smile at the fact that it's been 10 years since the show ended and there are still articles like this and this being posted. Oh, and this. And this. Is Hanna a nerd? Yesssss she sure iiiiisssss :D

Yesterday on my commute home, a little man sat down across from me on the bus and kept staring at the book I was reading about Area 51. It's not a book about aliens, it's a book about the CIA and the military and nuclear testing, etc. It's really interesting. The man eventually waved at me to remove my headphones, and our conversation went a little something like this:

Man: "Why are you reading that?" (He looked HORRIFIED. Absolutely scared for his life. It was so strange)
Me: "Why?? ...Why not?"
Man: "Why would you want to read that? Aliens?"
Me: "It has nothing to do with aliens, it's about the CIA and the military."
Man: "Oh my god. I didn't know girls read books like that."

!!!!!! Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I leave you with Lord Huron. They're a band located here in LA that I fell in love with a year or two ago. As it turns out, my friend/coworker has known them for years so I've been pretty up-to-date with the new stuff they're pushing out. Everything they do sounds like magic, and this new video is beautiful.

    1. The conversation was actually much longer and more bizarre then what I posted; after that last line I said "well...I'm a girl and I like this book" and then got up to wait by the door of the bus to avoid the freakshow that I caused hahaha!
