(that's where my head is, in case you were wondering)

Here is a list of things that I need to do:
- Save about $2,000 so I can move into a one bedroom apartment here in LA at some point late this year or next year without having to freak out about paying for security deposits and setup fees and an undoubtedly higher rent
- Take Bella to the vet to make sure that piece of ribbon she ate a while ago (of course it had to be the kind with wire in the edges) isn't wrapped around her intestines or something
- Find a flight to Buffalo for my birthday that's less than $500. PS: my birthday falls on Labor Day weekend, sooooooooooooooooo...
- New glasses

Everything I need to do costs hundreds of dollars.

I could freelance...and I am freelancing, but I've taken on a ridiculous amount of free projects. So much so, in fact, that I don't have any time to handle more than the single paid project I have going on right now. So I guess that's out. This means I will have to resort to my "backup plan" (aka my dream come true) and track down David Duchovny so we can elope somewhere and he can then pay for my moving expenses. I hope he doesn't expect me to move in with him after we get married. I am so UNINTERESTED in that idea.

All I know for certain after this weekend is that my friends are worth their weight in gold, and Tom Waits is a lyrical genius.

I’m the hat on the bed
I’m the coffee instead
The fish or cut bait
I’m the detective up late
I’m the blood on the floor
The thunder and the roar
The boat that won’t sink
I just won’t sleep a wink
You’re the same kind of bad as me

  1. i think u can do your move for way less than $2000...if u wanna move before feb, then youll have to find someone to replace u on the lease. that means that youll get your current security back right thats already like, what, $1150 you have to put towards a new security? and if were going off what my apartment is, then that means you only need another $500-ish for security. so then if u add moving expenses, i think you can be fine with closer to $1000...

also i thought you wanted to go home the weekend before our birthday?

also im sorry faggalas is contributing to your stress lol. let me know if it stops being fun to u because then i know i wont get your best work. but if youre still excited about it, just know you are an invaluable asset to us! and in the slim chance we end up making a profit down the line, youll totally reap the benefits of that!

also i dont know if im one of your friends who is worth their weight in gold but you are definitely for me...LOVE YOU!!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 "song lyric, song lyric," fortune cookie saying, more <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 xoxoxoxoxo

    1. No, my point in saving that much money is so I don't have to stress out over what happens if by chance i CAN'T fill the room right away OR if my new apartment suddenly requests a half months rent, pet deposits, things that I don't have and will need, etc etc. Last time we moved I was a frazzled angry mess which I'm SURE you remember hahahaha. My sanity is way more important than having a 1 bedroom a few months sooner.

And I'm just looking at flights throughout the 2 weekends before and after. Everything is still 400 and up.

And NO WAY, I'm so excited about designing for this!! I may not have as much time as I'd like but I'm confident it will go somewhere and it makes me happy to be a part of it.

And how DARE you assume that you are anywhere except the very top of that list of friends. I love you! *self portrait of me making a heart with my hands*

  2. I like the way your teeth push your lips forward in that dress photo.

No but seriously, DEM LIPS ARE FOR REAL!

    Like your dress too.

Weeeeh. too much caffeine. Love you.

  3. I'm kinda in the same boat right now. I need to save for a car, a trip next year to Scandinavia, and just to have a savings! My paycheck doesn't seem to be growing like I want, though...

  4. Ugh, the working-for-free dilemma. I've been there, I feel your pain, and I hope things work out easily. They will :) Your photos are awesome.

  5. Those are some expensive things on your list! I love getting new glasses! :)

  6. I highly recommend for getting new glasses. They have glasses for way under $100, but they're still great quality. I've bought two pairs from them in the past and they are still in perfect condition even though I wore them all the time. (I had to get bifocals because I could never remember to switch my glasses for reading and computering.) I am not affiliated with them in any way. They're just really good and definitely cost a lot less than most other glasses.
